WCE Announces 2026 Youth Tour Winners
Western Cooperative Electric is proud to announce the selection of four exceptional area students to represent the cooperative in its 2026 Youth Leadership programs. These prestigious opportunities provide students with hands-on experiences in leadership development, civic engagement, and cooperative education.
Two students have been selected to attend the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington, D.C., where they will join peers from across the country to explore the nation’s capital, meet elected officials, and gain a deeper understanding of the cooperative model at the national level. Representing Western Cooperative Electric in Washington, D.C. are:
Reygan Coonrod, Ellsworth High School, daughter of Eric and Stephanie Coonrod
Aiden Aschenbrenner, Ellis High School, son of Gary and Tara Aschenbrenner
Additionally, two students will participate in the Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This immersive camp experience focuses on building leadership skills, fostering teamwork, and educating students about the cooperative business model through interactive, hands-on activities. Selected students attending camp include:
Wyatt Dixson, Ellis High School, son of Tanner and Jill Dixson
Levi Sullivan, Hays High School, son of Nathan and Jennifer Sullivan
“These students exemplify the leadership, character, and commitment that strengthen our communities,” said Christina Hayes, Member Services Manager at Western Cooperative Electric. “By investing in youth leadership programs like these, we are helping shape the future—equipping students with the knowledge, confidence, and perspective they need to make a meaningful impact.”
Western Cooperative Electric congratulates these outstanding students and looks forward to the positive contributions they will continue to make in their schools and communities.
