Western Cooperative Electric (WCE) makes it a priority to educate you and the community about safety issues concerning power lines. Throughout the year Western personnel provides table-top safety demonstrations for local schools, organizations, and businesses.
Western has two different table-top programs to offer. The first one demonstrates electrical safety on a farm, using farm equipment, digging, and/or vehicle contact with energized lines. The second table-top demonstration shows how easily a circuit can become overloaded and what happens when those situations occur. With both presentations, the audience will learn how electricity works, how to identify an energized line, what protective gear the linemen use, what happens if a person comes in contact with an energized line, why electricity arcs and how to stay safe.
